  2. Project Nimbus is an initiative that hopes to solve innovators’ problem of finding data sets and services by offering a central place for authoritative and reliable data and services access from government and commercial entities in Singapore.

  4. -To unite the voices of Singapore Innovators and identify data sets and services in demand

    -To work with content owner and government entities for the appropriate release of data sets and services to Singapore Innovators

  6. Project Nimbus is currently administered by a group of passionate volunteers.

  9. How does Project Nimbus work?
  10. -Grow and facilitate success of Innovators:
    Lowering the barriers for Innovators by providing them tools and assets to quickly and easily focus on innovating.

    -Create an Innovator’s Marketplace:
    Build a central and open marketplace for Innovators to offer and consume data and services.

    -Assemble offerings for Innovators: 
    Great opportunity to easily showcase offerings that may benefit Innovators.

    - Focus on continuing innovation: 
    Spend less time on the “how-tos” and more time on actual innovation.

    -Access “it just works” data and services:
    Data and services interoperability in a single consistent API for developers to use to access authoritative and reliable data in Singapore.

    -Monetize their efforts:
    Enable “services store” scenarios for content / service providers to monetize.

  11. What can we expect from Project Nimbus?
  12. Innovators can expect a central marketplace for easy-to-use, authoritative and reliable data and services access from government and commercial entities in Singapore.

    Content owners can expect guidance and feedback on how to release their content securely and economically to innovators.  There may also be opportunities for monetization of content which we also provide guidance and toolkits for.

    Let us know what types of data sets / services you are keen to see. Every few weeks, you have our commitment that the Project Nimbus volunteers will gather and act on the top requests from our voting site.

  15. When can we start seeing things from Project Nimbus?
  16. As of Sept 23, the Project Nimbus council has formally taken several requests from its uservoice page and reached out to various content owners. We’ve since made some progress and we are in the midst of collating the data for the marketplace.
